Action  Plan

The main objective of the project is to support specific activities that will significantly increase the participation of low-skilled adults in Lifelong Learning and enhance their core skills. This will be achieved through high-quality adult education programs, such as MOOC, which will be provided by Second Chance Schools (SEN), Vocational Education and Training Institutes (IEK) and Lifelong Learning Centers ).

Activities leading to the above-mentioned goal will lead to two main outcomes: (a) the design and implementation of a MOOC for adult educators; and (b) the design and implementation of a MOOC on basic skills

The expected impact is that at least 50 teachers will attend MOOC training and over 60% will be certified as "Adult Trainers" and (b) at least 150 low-qualified adults will attend the MOOC for Basic Skills. During the pilot phases, the participation of MOOCs will be rigorous to ensure their functionality. By the end of the project, MOOC will be both mass and open, aiming at attracting as many participants as possible.

The primary objective of this project is to develop a new approach, following the international trend towards adapting MOOC, setting the foundations for adult learning policy and providing centralized coordination with specific formal channels of cooperation that meet the real needs of adults not only in Greece and the EU.

As each EU country is responsible for its own education and training systems for Greece, specific activities will be supported to achieve the following objectives at national level:

• Significantly increase the participation rate of low-skilled adults in Lifelong Learning in Greece,
• Promoting adult education programs by offering certified MOOCs for teachers wishing to attend to be certified as "Adult Trainers"
• Offer certified MOOC to enhance basic skills
